FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed invention relates to sorption hydrometallurgy of uranium and can be used to extract uranium from solutions and pulps. Described is a method of producing anionite for extracting uranium from sulfuric production solutions, involving suspension copolymerisation of n-vinylpyridine derivatives and divinylbenzene while heating in a dispersion aqueous medium containing sodium chloride and sodium nitrite, according to the invention, copolymerisation is carried out in the presence of benzoyl peroxide in a medium containing starch and sodium lauryl sulphate, after copolymerisation, the copolymer is methylated in the presence of dimethyl sulphate in an alcohol medium. Described also is an anionite for extracting uranium from sulfuric acid solutions, obtained using said method, based on a copolymer consisting of n-vinylpyridine and divinylbenzene derivatives, according to the invention, the anionite contains N-methylpyridinium groups in amount of 50–70 %.
EFFECT: increased total exchange capacity of anionite with respect to uranium and mechanical strength when extracting uranium from sulfuric acid solutions, reduced time for obtaining anionite, as well as obtaining granules of ionite with size of 0_8–2_0 mm with content of this fraction of at least 90 %.
