FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: probe for coagulation of biological tissue by means of introduction into the working channel of the endoscope comprises a tube made in the form of a flexible sleeve made of non-conductive material with possibility of supplying an inert gas through the sleeve, electrode located at the distal end of the tube and powered by high-frequency current for gas ionisation, a device for determining the position of the probe relative to the endoscope, wherein the position determining device comprises a light guide attached to the probe and configured to receive light surrounding the probe at its distal end, and is capable of determining the position of the probe relative to the endoscope by means of light entering the light guide.
EFFECT: creation of a surgical instrument for insertion into the working channel of the endoscope with the possibility of moving the said working instrument in the working channel of the endoscope, in order to exclude or at least strongly reduce the thermal effect on the distal end of the endoscope, contamination of the optical fibre and/or the hazard for the patient or user.
