FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: biological tissue ablation catheter for delivering laser energy from a laser source to an occlusion in a blood vessel comprises an array of light guides provided at a distal end of the catheter for emitting laser energy; expandable device in the region of the distal end of the catheter. Expandable device is configured to expand in a controlled manner in a radial direction towards the inner walls of the blood vessel and increasing the outer diameter of the catheter to increase the occlusion area exposed to the laser energy, and a central hollow passage for ablating the ablated tissue from the area near the distal end of the catheter. At that, in the distal region inside the central hollow passage there are blades for grinding of the tissue ablated.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides safe and effective ablation of the blood vessel occlusion.
