SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of calibrating video spectrometers. Method of reference-free correction of nonlinear response of video spectrometer consists in registration of several broadband images of object with different signal level by video spectrometer using an optical system with several neutral light filters or a neutral density filter with variable density, data processing and calculation of calibration dependence of intensity registered by radiation receiver on level of signal from object, application of this dependence for correction of spectral images in real time.

EFFECT: possibility of correcting nonlinear response of a video spectrometer when there are no references in the field of view of the device.
