FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for non-contact determination of spatial distribution of pigment content in plants. When implementing the method, a set of spectral indices is set, which enable to calculate the content of the pigment in the given conditions, sequence of spectral images of the object is recorded only in those spectral intervals which correspond to wavelengths required for calculating given spectral indices. Further, a set of curves relating the values of the given spectral indices to the pigment concentration value calculated under laboratory conditions is calculated. Pigment content in each spatial element is determined from the calibration curve which provides the least error in determining pigment concentration.
EFFECT: enabling determination of spatial distribution of concentration of pigments in plant samples of multiple crops, high spatial and temporal resolution of monitoring the pigment composition of plants.
