SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nonwoven composite structures used in many consumer disposable products, including personal hygiene products, as well as disposable tissues, and personal/child care. Liquid-containing nonwoven article comprises a core nonwoven web comprising a first plurality of fibres comprising a first fibre-forming material of polyvinyl alcohol, wherein the core nonwoven web comprises a liquid, wherein the liquid contains an active agent; and an outer nonwoven web comprising a second plurality of fibres comprising a second fibre-forming material of polyvinyl alcohol, wherein the core nonwoven web is surrounded by the outer nonwoven web.

EFFECT: invention enables to create a nonwoven structure using chemicals that are readily biodegradable, do not contribute to the formation of microplastic and are even soluble in water, which have suitable mechanical properties to withstand loads applied to disposable consumer goods, and having a liquid reservoir, for example, for loading lotions into wipes and/or retaining liquid in the liquid receiving layer.
