SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to orthopaedic dentistry. Temporary elastic prosthesis-obturator for air-water cooling manipulations in patients with postoperative defects of upper jaw is characterized by the fact that it is made monolithic from silicone composition of cold vulcanisation with intraoral and obturating surfaces and a metal bushing for removing the obturator by bringing the magnetic holder. Obturating surface faces the nasal cavity and fills the postoperative defect, and the external platform is located along the edge of the defect with a protruding part at 2–3 mm from the edge of the defect, tightly adjoins the mucous membrane of the hard palate and corresponds to the shape of the hard palate. Prosthetic obturator is made by fitting a light-curable plastic plate in the area of the postoperative defect and squeezing it with overlapping the resection borders and lighting with a polymerisation lamp. Then, a silicone material is applied on the surface of the plate facing the nasal cavity, and a metal sleeve with diameter of 6 mm is recessed in the centre, fitted and hardened in the oral cavity.

EFFECT: production of a temporary obturator with high chemical and physical characteristics, which provides separation of the oral cavity from the nasal cavity, increased convenience of removing the obturator.
