FIELD: physics; pattern recognition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pattern recognition. Disclosed is a method in which a reference image is recorded in a given scale and a given angle of the hand silhouette of a certain person with fingers apart, recording in the same scale and the same angle an image of the hand silhouette of the hand of the person to be identified with fingers apart, and after processing said registered images, their parameters are compared. Task is solved due to the fact that the shapes of the contours of the fingers are compared without any transformations. For quantitative estimation of contour difference the square of Euclidean distance is used.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce probability of incorrect decision making by identification device, id est reduce probability of missed intruder and false alarm.
