METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING A PERSON USING FRACTAL DIMENSION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G06V40/12

Abstract RU 2782709 C1

FIELD: biometrics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biometric identification of an individual and can be used in the identification study of materially fixed surface colored traces. The expected result is achieved by the fact that in the method for identification of a person using fractal dimension, the reference value of the fractal dimension of the papillary pattern of the fingerprint of a hand or foot is fixed, the fractal dimension of the papillary pattern of the identified person is calculated, the obtained value of the fractal dimensions of the papillary pattern of an identified person is compared with a reference value, according to the results of the comparison, the identification of a person is judged, according to the invention, the calculation of the fractal dimension of the papillary pattern is performed on the basis of the obtained image of a fragment of the papillary pattern of a fingerprint of a hand or foot, while the resulting image is enlarged and poro- and edgeoscopic signs of the skin of the fingers or toes are analyzed.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of identification of a person, as well as reduction in the duration of the identification procedure by fingerprints and toes.
