FIELD: various technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repair and restoration of machine parts and can be used at technical service enterprises. Method for restoring the lower connecting rod head comprises forming combined coatings consisting of two layers. First layer is made as the main one, taking up the load acting on the connecting rod head. Second layer is made to ensure 100% contact continuity of the combined coating. First layer is performed by electric spark treatment with a bronze electrode “БрКМц 3-1” with cross-section of 7–12.5 mm2 in manual mode at specified technological modes of processing. Treatment is carried out by short circuits with periodic forced cooling of the electrode and ensuring contact continuity of the applied layer of 85–90%. Second layer is performed by cold gas-dynamic spraying with “С-01-01” powder.

EFFECT: higher physical and mechanical properties of applied metal coatings on the surfaces of restored parts.
