FIELD: spot welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spot welding and can be used in automated process lines in making bodies, particularly in automotive industry, for removing tips of electrodes. Device comprises at least one removal device (1) installed with possibility of rotation around tool axis and intended for fixation of removed tips of electrodes. Removing device comprises a combination of spur and helical clamping means (2 and 3).
EFFECT: use of mixed tooling provides reliability of capturing and releasing tips, wherein clamping means with spur gearing (4) facilitate earlier start of rotational movement on detachable electrode tip, and clamping means with helical gearing (5) provide its fixation due to screw thread effect.
