FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to resistance spot welding, in particular to a precast welding electrode. Prefabricated welding electrode (10) contains mounting adapter (14), shank (16) and tip (18) of the electrode. Shank has near end (28), made with the possibility of placement of mounting adapter (14) in hole (24). Tip (18) of the electrode has channel (46) for coolant, working end (38), mounting end (36), arranged to be placed in an end hole in shank (16), and protruding rim (42), passing concentrically around the tip of the electrode between the installation and working ends. Protruding rim (42) is designed to protect the electrode body while welding with an electrode tip or filling the electrode tip to facilitate removal of the electrode tip when it is replaced and to limit and control the adhesion of the electrode tip.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the strength and increasing the service life of the prefabricated welding electrode in spot welding.
