FIELD: radar and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of creating a zone for protecting territories from low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles. To create a protection zone, the area is exposed to radar by scanning the radiolocation station (RLS) antenna beams from the carrier quadcopter beams, lifted above ground to height of line of sight of targets above uneven surface for arrangement of continuous detection zone on ground surface. On each of the quadcopters, radars are installed with periodic switching of the polarization plane of radio waves, the terrain is scanned with beams of a phased antenna array, distance to target is determined from phase difference of signals of reference switching frequency and received after amplitude demodulation of radio signals.
EFFECT: enabling detection of low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles at altitudes less than 100 m at a distance of up to 5 km.
