FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio-measuring equipment and can be used for detection and evaluation of coordinates of unauthorized tie-ins in main pipelines. Disclosed is a system for detecting unauthorized tie-ins in mains, which consists of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a narrow-band radar and receiving-transmitting antennae placed on its board. Transmitting antenna is in form of a linear phased array (PAA) of orthogonally lying dipoles, one of which radiates a radio wave with linear polarization perpendicular to the axis of the position of the pipeline, and the second is parallel with the said dipoles. Dipoles of the phased antenna array are connected through a switch to a carrier frequency transmitter of the radar station such that the phased antenna array periodically changes polarization of the emitted waves from transverse to longitudinal.
EFFECT: invention increases inspection speed, reliability and sensitivity of the system for detecting a tie-in due to illumination of the radar beam by a wave with linear polarization which coincides on the direction with the pipeline which pumps oil products from the tie-in.
