FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and can be used in devices for heating water, for example, in nuclear power plants. In the method of determining reserves before the heat release crisis in assemblies with fuel elements with double-sided cooling, operating parameters are set at the inlet of the fuel cluster, power is supplied to the fuel cluster, the power of the cluster is changed, the temperature of the concave and convex heat-release surfaces of the fuel elements is measured, determining, based on measured temperatures of heat-release surfaces, critical power of cluster, margins before the heat release crisis are determined by comparing the critical power of the cluster and the power of the cluster at nominal parameters. After reaching the heat release crisis on one of the surfaces, the power supplied to the cluster is continued to increase, margins before the heat release crisis of the cluster are determined, wherein the critical power of the cluster is the power at which the heat release crisis occurs on both heat release surfaces. Increase in power is stopped when temperature on one of cooled shells is higher than limit Tsh≥Tlim. In this case, the critical power is the power at which the temperature of one of the shells reaches the limit.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining reserves before a heat release crisis in clusters with fuel elements with double-sided cooling.
