FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and can be used, for example, in reactor fuel assemblies (RFA) of nuclear power plants. Method of reactor fuel assembly (RFA) operation with rod-type fuel elements consists in that heat carrier is supplied to fuel assembly input, heat carrier is passed along convex heat-releasing surfaces of fuel elements, heat is extracted in fuel rods, mass exchange is performed between fuel assembly cells, discharged heat is removed due to heat removal from convex heat-releasing surfaces of fuel elements. Mass exchange between RFA cells is performed by heat carrier flows through holes in unheated inserts.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to equalize temperature of heat carrier on cross-section of fuel assembly, to eliminate boiling of heat carrier in cells.
