FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an accelerating structure of a linear resonant accelerator with spatially homogeneous quadrupole focusing, made on the basis of a four-chamber resonator with a system of electrodes. Each electrode is divided along the longitudinal axis into two parts – the upper part located near the axial region of the central axis of the resonator and providing the acceleration of the selected type of charged particles, and a lower part rigidly attached to the resonator housing and having a support function for the upper part of the electrode fixed thereon, connected by a current-conducting adjustment support. At that, the adjustment units located near the resonator paraxial region and made in the form of current-conducting adjustment supports, electrode top part is connected to its bottom part while maintaining electrical contact of the whole structure of the separated electrode with the resonator housing. In addition, the upper part of electrode is 10–20% of the weight and/or volume of the entire electrode, and the lower part of electrode is 80–90% of the weight and/or volume of the entire electrode, respectively.
EFFECT: providing and long-term preservation of the required accuracy of electrodes adjustment in the paraxial region of the accelerating structure without significant reduction of energy efficiency.
