FIELD: linear accelerators.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of linear accelerators of charged particles and represents an accelerating structure of a linear resonance accelerator. Accelerating structure with spatially homogeneous quadrupole focusing of the linear resonant accelerator is based on 4-chamber resonator with a system of composite electrodes inside the resonator housing. Each electrode installed inside the resonator housing is divided along the longitudinal axis into two parts – the upper part located near the axial region of the resonator and providing the acceleration of the selected type of charged particles, and a lower part attached to the resonator housing and having a support function for the upper part of the electrode fixed thereon. Upper part of electrode is 10-20% of the weight and/or volume of the entire electrode, and the lower part of electrode is 80-90% of the weight and/or volume of the entire electrode, respectively, where the upper and lower parts of the electrode are directly connected to each other by a detachable current-conducting compound.

EFFECT: enabling acceleration in the same accelerating structure of charged particles, particularly ions, with different charge-to-mass ratio while preserving the main part of the resonance system.
