FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of converting hydrocarbon material containing at least 20 wt.pts. and less than 10,000 wt.pts. of halides, into a hydrocarbon product stream by hydrotreating in the presence of a material which is catalytically active in hydrotreating and a certain amount of hydrogen. Said hydrocarbon product stream contains a certain amount of ionic halides. Said hydrocarbon product stream is combined with a certain amount of flushing water and a stream of purified water, and wherein the weight ratio between the flushing water and the hydrocarbon product stream is greater than 1:10 and less than 10:1. Combined stream of hydrocarbon product and flushing water is separated into non-polar stream of hydrocarbon product and a polar stream of flushing water containing ionic halides such that 50 to 100% of said ionic halides pass from said hydrocarbon product stream into the polar stream of flushing water containing ionic halides. Said polar flow of flushing water containing ionic halides is directed to concentration means to provide said stream of purified water and a stream of brine having a concentration of ionic halides more than 2 times and less than 100 times higher than that of a polar stream of flushing water containing ionic halides. Invention also relates to a method of converting a stream of crude material and a system for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon stream.
EFFECT: possibility of receiving a hydrocarbon mixture with a large amount of halides, purifying it to a high-quality hydrocarbon product with minimum water consumption.
