FIBROUS SUBSTRATE-BASED HYDROTREATMENT CATALYSTS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC B01J37/25 B01J35/06 B01J29/40 B01J29/18 B01J29/08 B01J21/08

Abstract RU 2560551 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst, a method for production thereof and a method for hydrotreatment of feed stocks. The catalyst comprises a fibrous substrate with silicon-containing fibres and a zeolite. The zeolite is present in the fibrous substrate in amount of at least 20 wt % with respect to the weight of the fibrous substrate. The zeolite has molar ratio of silicon dioxide to aluminium oxide in the framework equal to at least 20. The fibrous substrate is substantially nonporous and is characterised by sodium chemisorption specific surface area rate change SACRNa≤0.5 and surface area in the range of 0.01 m2/g to 10 m2/g. A method of preparing the catalyst includes contacting fibrous material, having silicon-containing fibre, with a template reagent under zeolite formation conditions to convert a portion of silicon dioxide present in the silicon-containing fibres to framework silicon dioxide of a zeolite and obtain a fibrous substrate. Such catalysts can significantly increase the physical surface area, for example, per unit length of the reactor or reaction zone. At least a portion of silicon dioxide initially present in the silicon-containing fibres of the fibrous material, used to form the fibrous substrate, is converted to a zeolite, which remains deposited on said fibres.

EFFECT: fibrous substrates have vital properties, for example with respect to acidity, which are valuable in hydrotreatment applications (for example, hydrofining or hydrocracking).
