SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely to a needle drive assembly for a drug delivery system. Needle drive assembly comprises a body, a needle having a retracted and extended position, wherein the needle drive unit is arranged inside the housing and is movable from a position before use, in which the needle is in a retracted position, into a use position in which the needle is in an extended position, and into a position after use in which the needle is in a retracted position, wherein the needle drive has a contact surface with the button, and the actuating button is received in the body. Actuating button is movable relative to the body between the first position and the second position, and the actuating button has a locking tab. Movement of the actuating button from the first position to the second position makes the actuating button contact and move the needle drive unit to release the needle drive unit and move the needle drive unit from a position before use to a position of use. Locking tab of the actuating button is in engagement with the contact surface of the button of the drive unit of the needle when the drive unit of the needle is in the position of use in order to limit movement of the actuating button from the second position to the first position.

EFFECT: disclosed is a drive assembly for a drug delivery system.
