FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Adsorbent composition contains a bismuth-based material, a promoter and a substrate. Substrate contains particles having size of 1 mcm to 10 mm. Bismuth-based material and the promoter are dispersed in the pores of the substrate. Promoter comprises a tungsten-based material or a silicon-based material. Bismuth-based material is present in the form of bismuth oxide from 2 wt.% to 20 wt.% in terms of the amount of bismuth metal relative to the total weight of the composition. Promoter is present from 1 wt.% to 11 wt.% relative to the total weight of the composition. Rest of the mass of the adsorbent composition consists essentially of a substrate which is selected from titanium oxide, aluminium oxide, activated carbon or a molecular sieve. Invention also discloses a method of producing an adsorbent composition and a method of adsorbing arsenic-based material.

EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to increase efficiency of arsine removal from gaseous process streams.
