METHOD OF PROTECTING WATER AREA DURING CONSTRUCTION WORKS ON HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC E02B1/00

Abstract RU 2823326 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water resources protection technologies during construction works on hydraulic structures, including repair and restoration activities, erection, dismantling of the repaired structure, new construction with formation of a turbidity field in the adjacent water area. Task is to create a simple and effective method of protecting a water area from a turbidity field during construction work on hydraulic structures. Solution is installation of protective screen from one boundary of object 1, where work is expected to be carried out, to another, along perimeter of distribution of spot of turbidity field 3, protective screen is made up of a web of geosynthetic material (geotextile) stretched by its long sides on two cables, on the upper cable with floats and the lower cable with weights, respectively. Pore diameter of the web is selected so that the pore diameter of the web is less than the diameter of the suspended particles from which water area 4 is protected, and the height of the protective screen is selected depending on the depth of the water area, taking into account the maximum levels during the period of work with a margin that ensures the elimination of distortions and the possibility of the required stretching of the screen in case of strong waves. Before installing the protective screen, the bottom of the water area is cleaned along the installation line of the protective screen, after which the ends of the protective screen are fixed on one boundary of object 1, on which the works are supposed to be carried out, the protective screen is stretched, fixing it at the bottom of the water area with the help of anchor blocks, each of which is connected by a cable to the corresponding buoy, the ends of the protective screen are fixed at the other boundary of object 1, at the work area. Protective screen is installed so that the weights of the lower cable (bowstring) are completely submerged to the bottom, providing a tight fit of the screen to the ground and stretching it throughout the depth of the protected part of water area 4, and the float elements of the upper cable kept the upper edge of the protective screen on the water surface without sagging.

EFFECT: invention provides a simple and effective method of protecting water area from turbidity field propagation during construction and reconstruction of berths and other coastal structures.
