FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed group of inventions relates to separation of minerals, in particular to a flotation process for reducing the weight fraction of gangue in an iron-containing material and increasing the content of iron. Method for flotation of ferruginous quartzites comprises sulphide flotation and subsequent silicate flotation. Silicate flotation is carried out in an alkaline medium with pH in range of 9.0–11.0. Collector is added in amount of 50–200 g/t of ore. Before silicate flotation, stage sulphide flotation is carried out, at the first stage of which 400–500 g/t of collector ore is added, at subsequent stages 50–130 g/t of collector ore are added. At the first or at the first and second stages, 5–20 g/t of foaming agent ore is added. Collector used in sulphide flotation is an alkyl xanthogenate collector, and during silicate flotation, a collector made from a mixture of amines containing at least 85% aminoacetate is used. According to one version of the method, sulphide and silicate flotation is carried out at a speed of rotation of impeller of 800–1,200 rpm for 2.2–7.8 minutes and air is supplied in a volume of not less than 0.02 l/s. According to another version of the method, tailings from silicate flotation are subjected to flotation in an alkaline medium with a pH in range of 9.0–11.0, with impeller rotation speed of 800–1,200 rpm for 2.2–7.8 minutes, wherein air is supplied in volume of not less than 0.02 l/s.
EFFECT: improving the quality of the resulting concentrate by increasing the mass fraction of iron in the resulting concentrate and reducing the mass fraction of sulphur and silicon in it.
