FIELD: agriculture; animal breeding; fodder production.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing a fodder additive from algae. Freshly harvested algae Cladophora spp. are washed with water until complete removal of salts 1–2 hours after collection, released from epiphytes and dried in the shade at temperature of 25 °C for 48 hours. Dried mass is placed in a drying cabinet and dried till moisture content is not higher than 20%. After that, the obtained dry mass is subjected to grinding to obtain particles with size from 0.2 to 0.8 mm. Powder is then granulated to a granule size of 4 mm.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a finished product—a feed additive, rich in protein (220±11) mg/g of dry weight, carbohydrates (142±20) mg/g of dry weight, vitamin C (0.8±0.09) mcg/g of dry weight, vitamin B3 (0.3±0.05) mcg/g of dry weight mass, vitamin E (0.09±0.01) mcg/g of dry mass, carotenoids (667±32) mcg/g of dry weight, for use in animal breeding.
