SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of water-soluble polysaccharides as an antiallergic agent. Use of water-soluble polysaccharides with weight-average molecular weight of 158.49 kDa, represented by arabinogalacturonans, isolated from the elevated part of Saussurea salicifolia (L.) DC., as an antiallergic agent, inhibiting development of early stages of allergic reactions due to suppression of production of key cytokine IL-4 and ovalbumin-specific immunoglobulins of G1 class, reduced severity of systemic reaction of anaphylaxis and local hypersensitivity of immediate type, as well as increased stabilization of mast cell membranes.

EFFECT: use of the invention provides antiallergic action suppressing the development of early stages of allergic reactions due to suppression of production of key cytokine IL-4 and ovalbumin-specific immunoglobulins G1, reduced severity of systemic reaction of anaphylaxis and local hypersensitivity of immediate type, as well as increased stabilization of mast cell membranes.
