FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining the length of an optical path through a cuvette of a spectrophotometric device and a method of correcting the length of the path depending on change in amplitude in the output signal of such a device. Method of determining length (L) of optical path of a cuvette of a spectrophotometric device includes: obtaining (720) a single-beam spectrum (SBZ) of liquid zero material in at least a first energy range, in which absorbs said liquid zero material; obtaining (740) a single-beam spectrum (SB2) of a second liquid having a composition excluding the presence of liquid zero material and having no absorption in said first energy range; determining (760) a double-beam spectrum (DBZ) of the liquid zero material relative to a second liquid in at least a first energy range of the two obtained single-beam spectra (SBZ, SB2); and calculation (780) of the length (L) of the optical path through the cuvette depending on the spectral information obtained from the first energy range of the determined double-beam spectrum (DBZ).

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the length of the optical path through a cuvette in a spectrophotometric device.
