SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for processing audio data. Result is achieved by decoding the acoustic environment, wherein the acoustic environment includes at least one audio source and at least one audio object, wherein at least one audio object is represented by a list of structural-acoustic data, which relates the position data of the polygons to the structural-acoustic properties of the materials, wherein these positions include, for each polygon, the position of one primary structural-acoustic vertex and the position of the remaining structural-acoustic vertices, wherein the method comprises steps of: reading from the bit stream an encoded version of the structural-acoustic data and at least one audio stream to be rendered, generated by at least one audio source in the acoustic environment; decoding at least one audio stream; and the structural acoustic data are decoded.

EFFECT: high efficiency and at the same time reducing the complexity of the individually adjustable coding scheme.
