FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering and specifically to a method of providing macro-functional control when testing electronic input/output devices. In the transit device, a memory area for recording a macro function and a memory area for storing the reporting information of the macro function are allocated; macro functions are developed during formation of diagnostic tests; control equipment during execution of tests reprograms the macro function into a transit device into the memory area for recording the macro function and issues a command to the transit device to start the macro function; transit device, performing the macro function, exchanges with the input/output device and stores the reporting information in the memory area for storing the reporting information of the macro function; macro function comprises an algorithm with at least two exchanges with an input/output device, time between exchanges and a structure for generating reporting information; after executing the macro function, the control equipment reads the reporting information from the transit device. Idea of invention consists in the following. Macro functions are developed for the required specific tests. During testing, for each test using the macro function, the control equipment reprograms the macro function into a specially allocated separate memory area of the transit device and issues a command to launch it in the transit device. Launched macro function executes an algorithm of exchanges with the input/output device and upon completion generates report information into another specially allocated separate memory area of the transit device. In the next test, a macro function is similarly reprogrammed into a transit device, it is executed by a command from the control equipment and reporting information is generated. In each test, the same memory area is used to record the macro function, as well as the same other memory area of the transit device is used to generate report information. And so on, each test using the macro function is performed.
EFFECT: implementation of the exchange algorithm in the macro function performed by the transit device provides a mechanism for real complex interaction with the input-output device, without participation of control equipment.
