FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of highly porous open-cell carbon material which can be used to make catalyst supports, thermal shields, electrodes with developed surface and supercapacitors. Material can also act as a base for applying metal, ceramic and hybrid coatings. Method of producing pyrocarbon-carbon ceramics involves deposition from the gas phase of pyrocarbon formed during decomposition of organic compounds between carbon materials. Starting organic compounds used are aromatic and aliphatic energy-intensive nitroguanidine derivatives, which are mixed with carbon material and heated in a crucible to a temperature of not more than 300 °C. Carbon porous open-cell ceramics is formed along the volume of the crucible.
EFFECT: reduced duration and power consumption of the process of forming ceramics.
