FIELD: preparation of carbon-carbon composite materials. SUBSTANCE: carbon-carbon composite material is reinforced with carbon fibers with ceramic carbon matrix consisting of cake of polymeric resins and pyrocarbon to impart to composite material friction, erosionresistant and heat-resistant characteristics and protective (barrier) coating composed of silicon and/or titanium carbide is applied in amount from 2.0 to 12% of final weight is applied from gas phase onto carbon fiber in the form of braids, cloth and knitted fabric applied fro gas phase from silicon carbide in amount from 2.0 to 12.0% of final weight. The resulting composite material retains strength up to temperature of 2500 C, has high friction characteristics and its weight is less than weight of steel and alloys by five times. Material is ecologically clean when in service at temperatures up to 1200 C, which is not practicable for traditional materials based on graphite, asbo-and glass filled composite materials and its cost is much lower than that of well-known analogs.
