FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing high-porosity open-cell carbon material; it can be used when manufacturing electrodes, supercapacitors, osteoplastic material for replacement of bone defects, catalyst carriers, as well as shields for thermal protection and electromagnetic radiation protection. Besides, the invention material can be used as a base for applying metal, ceramic and hybrid coatings to obtain composite construction material. Method for producing high-porosity open-cell carbon material is carried out using a blank of polyurethane foam impregnated with synthetic thermosetting resin with following heat treatment up to 1000°C and isothermal exposure at this temperature in inert atmosphere with saturation of carbonized blank with gas-phase pyrocarbon. Impregnation is carried out using the solution of thermosetting resin in ethyl alcohol with viscosity of 30 to 70 Poise under ultrasound impact for at least 30 min followed by convective drying at a temperature of no more than 80°C for 5-30 min. Heat treatment is carried out at a constant heating speed of 3-4°C/min with isothermal exposure for at least 30 min. Saturation with pyrocarbon is carried out at a temperature of at least 950°C in methane atmosphere until weight gain of at least 150% of blank weight is reached.
EFFECT: producing a material with increased characteristics of porosity and strength without modification of impregnating solution.
