FIELD: aerosol generation systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for an aerosol generation system. The device for the aerosol generating system comprises: an inductive element for inductively heating a receiving device for heating the aerosol generating material to form an aerosol; an insulating element that, in use, is located between the inductive element and the receiving device to thermally isolate the receiving device from the inductive element; a temperature sensor for measuring a temperature at a location in the system isolated in use from the receiving device by an insulating element; and a control device configured to monitor the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor and perform a control action if, based on the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor, the control device determines that the receiving device is overheating.

EFFECT: providing protection of the receiving device against overheating.
