FIELD: aerosol delivery devices.
SUBSTANCE: various aerosol delivery devices are described which, during use, can suppress or prevent the accumulation of condensate in the channel that connects the heating chamber of the device to the outside of the device. In devices according to one aspect, the interior surface of such a channel is heated during a session of use. In devices according to another aspect, the inner surface of such a channel is heated so that at least a portion of its inner surface reaches a temperature of at least 85°C. In devices according to another aspect, the inner surface portion has a thermal conductivity greater than or equal to 1 W/m/K. In another aspect, the inner surface of such a channel is heated so that at least the middle portion of its inner surface reaches a temperature of at least 70°C. Devices according to another aspect include an air heating module for heating air in such a duct, thereby substantially preventing condensation in the duct. In devices according to yet another aspect, at least a portion of such a channel is defined by a component comprising a first current collector, the first current collector being heated by an inductor which forms part of a heating assembly for heating a heating chamber of the device; wherein the current collector in turn heats the duct, thereby substantially preventing condensation in the duct. In devices according to yet another aspect, at least a portion of such a conduit is defined by a component containing a thermally conductive material, the thermally conductive material of the component abutting against a heating element that forms part of a heating assembly for heating the heating chamber of the device, such that the component is heated by transferring heat from the heating element. element, thereby essentially preventing the accumulation of condensate in the duct. Devices according to yet another aspect, wherein when an article containing an aerosol generating material is fully inserted into the device and engaged with a restraint in the device, there is a first section along the length of the device that does not overlap with any heating element, the first section extends either in the direction of the proximal end from the distal end of the product, or in the distal direction from the proximal end of the product.
EFFECT: in devices according to another aspect, one or more components define such a conduit and a heating chamber to the device, the one or more components providing an airtight seal where the heating chamber meets the conduit.
