FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of purifying natural water from boron compounds when preparing surface and underground water for household water supply to populated areas and can be used in water treatment for drinking and technical purposes. Method involves passing water through a filtering layer. Modified active aluminium oxide is used as filtering layer, modification and further regeneration of which is carried out by successive passage of solutions of 1 wt.% hydrochloric acid and sodium aluminate with concentration of 10 g/dm3 with intermediate washing of the filtering layer with water. Volume of the solution for modification is 5.0 volumes of the filtering layer. Volume of water for washing after modification is 6.0 volumes of filtering layer. Washing intensity – 12.0 l/(s⋅m2).
EFFECT: easy-to-maintain and easy-to-operate method of purifying natural waters from boron compounds with high rate of processes without formation of by-products and secondary environmental pollution with minimum amount of additional equipment, with possibility of being integrated into existing water treatment schemes.
