FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to clinical neurophysiology and neurosurgery, and can be used in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during neurosurgical removal of brain stem growths. Recording of averaged potentials is performed by means of recording electrodes, located on the scalp in a projection of the sensory area of the cerebral cortex using a reference electrode. Stimulation is carried out from a double-contact plate electrode located at the bottom of the fourth ventricle, along the middle line, in such a way that one contact is 0.5 cm above the brain strips, and the second contact is on the brain strips or below the brain strips.
EFFECT: method enables continuous monitoring of the state of somatosensory pathways in patients regardless of initial sensory disorders, minimizing the postoperative neurological deficit, simplifying and reducing the invasion of the examination procedure itself and reducing the time required for the examination.
