FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurophysiology and neurosurgery, and can be used during neurosurgical operations on formations near posterior visual radiance and visual cortex. Light stimulator is placed on the patient’s eyes, a reference electrode is placed in the area of skin of an ipsilateral mastoid process and a ground electrode is placed at the point Fz. Trepanation is performed over a projection of a space-occupying mass, a dura mater is opened and 8-contact cortical recording grid electrode is placed on the cortex in the trepanation window. Grid electrode is placed subdurally on the medial surface of the occipital cortex in a projection of the primary visual cortex or as close as possible to the primary visual cortex. Interrupted suture on the dura mater is used as an attachment of the cortical recording grid electrode.
EFFECT: method provides obtaining adequate and stable cortical visual evoked potentials for intraoperative assessment of the functional state of the visual pathways in order to preserve the visual function and quality of life of the patient.
