SUBSTANCE: device for depositing and withdrawing banknotes according to an embodiment includes a deposit and withdrawal portion having a space, through which a banknote is inserted or received during deposit and withdrawal, a section for recognizing deposited banknotes, configured to recognize the type and deviation from the norm of the deposited banknote by means of a plurality of sensors provided on the path of movement, on which the banknote is moved, which is deposited through the deposit and withdrawal part, a temporary retention part provided on one side of the deposit and withdrawal part and having a structure in the form of a drum, in which a banknote recognized as an insolvent banknote in the deposited banknote recognition section is temporarily stored, deflecting part provided on one side of the temporary retention part and having a structure in the form of a drum, in which a banknote is temporarily stored, recognized as a banknote rejected for depositing in a depositing banknote recognition section intended for insertion of a cassette, in which an insolvent banknote is stored, which is temporarily stored in a temporary retention part, moved to it when depositing, a plurality of solvent cassettes, which are laid at the lower side of the cassette intended for insertion, and in which the banknote, recognized as a solvent banknote in the depositing banknote recognition section, is stored separately in accordance with the type of banknote, and a movement path along which the deposited or withdrawn banknote moves.
