FIELD: rail vehicles; testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and can be used during testing of components of working equipment of a rail-grinding train, an abrasive tool, determination of optimum rails grinding modes and optimum sequence of inclination angles of grinding electric motors. Proposed installation comprises grinding unit composed of motor with grinding wheel fitted on parallelogram suspension, grinding rail and loading device to adjust wheel pressing force to rail. Installation is additionally equipped with a mechanism for transverse displacement of the grinding unit and a mechanism for tilting the grinding unit at different angles. Grinding unit is fixed on the trolley installed with the possibility of reciprocating motion by drive relative to the grinding rail.
EFFECT: possibility to test operation of rail grinding equipment at different positions of grinding wheel, simulation of different speed modes of grinding, providing different clamping forces depending on current load on the electric motor, turning the grinding head at different angle.
