FIELD: ammunition storage and transportation means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to storage and transportation of ammunition, namely to closure for storage and transportation of ammunition. Closure for storage and transportation of ammunition contains an external shell including a housing and a cover made with possibility of relative movement between an open and a closed position. Closure comprises explosion-proof panels arranged so as to create a protective shell when the housing and the cover are in the closed position. Each of the explosion-proof panels includes a layer that retains fragments and a softening layer. Softening layer is configured to reduce the force of the shock wave caused by the explosion of the ammunition. Retaining layer is configured to retain fragments. Housing and cover of outer shell are made of fire-resistant and impact-resistant composite material. Layer of liquid gas-filled polymer is deposited on the housing and the cover of the outer shell on the inner side. Fragment retaining layer is made in the form of a thermoplastic polymer plate. Explosion-proof panel of the cover consists of a softening layer of gas-filled plastic and a plate of thermoplastic polymer placed in the cavity of the softening layer on the side of the outer shell. Explosion-proof panel of the housing consists of a softening layer made of gas-filled plastic, a set of plates from a thermoplastic polymer, which are placed in the softening layer on the side of the walls of the housing of the outer shell, and having an inner cavity for accommodating the ammunition. Explosion-proof panels of the cover and the housing are connected to the inner layer of gas-filled polymer of the cover and the housing by means of an adhesive. Plates from thermoplastic polymer are fixed in cavities of softening layer of cover and housing with the help of glue. Dimensions and arrangement of plates from thermoplastic polymer are selected from the condition of preventing detonation of ammunition placed in the closure when fragments and bullets get into it. Housing and the cover of the outer shell are connected to each other by means of a projection and a recess passing along the perimeter of the connection. Cover is equipped with a rubber seal that seals the closure.

EFFECT: reduced possibility of detonation of stored or transported ammunition in emergency situations.
