SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons and ammunition and namely to testing ammunition for resistance to dangerous external influence. A method for assessing the resistance of ammunition to dangerous external influence includes a set of tests of ammunition of the same nomenclature for resistance to fast and slow heating, impact of a bullet, a fragment, some fragments, a cumulative jet, sympathetic detonation and a drop from height. Various types of ammunition of this nomenclature undergo these tests to determine the correspondence between the type of dangerous external influence and the type of ammunition reaction - detonation (type I), partial detonation (II), explosive combustion (III), deflagration (IV), combustion (V), displacement (VI) or no reaction. The test results help to determine the level of technological and operational safety of the ammunition as well as to improve the ammunition to increase resistance to dangerous external influence.
