SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of evacuation of passengers from railway cars, mainly double-decker ones, in case of emergencies, for example, in case of fires. Rescue device for evacuation of passengers from a railway car with window openings (2) is made in the form of two external hollow beams (4), arranged on both sides of mechanical drive (5) and fixed in car body in transverse direction. On both sides of drive device (5) inside external beams (4) there are internal telescopic beams (6) connected by one end to drive device (5). Ropes (7) are fixed on external ends of internal beams.

EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of evacuation of passengers from the second floor of a double-decker car, increases living space of passengers in a compartment, provides double-sided evacuation of passengers through window openings both to the right and to the left of external side surfaces of the car; besides, transverse external beams (4) increase car body strength.
