Wheel test apparatus includes a support device for a wheel simulating a rail, configured to support a wheel simulating a rail, with the possibility of its rotation, wheel support device configured to support the test wheel with possibility of its rotation in the state when the test wheel is in contact with the wheel simulating the rail, a first motor configured to rotate a wheel simulating a rail and a test wheel, and a torque generator configured to generate a torque to be applied to the test wheel. Torque generating device comprises rotary frame driven by rotary drive and second motor mounted on said rotary frame. At least one of the wheel simulating the rail and the tested wheel is connected to the first electric motor by means of a torque generating device.
