FIELD: veterinary science; veterinary ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for treating conjunctivitis in cattle. Method involves washing with disinfectants, applying an ointment containing florfenicol, lanolin, petrolate, resorcinol, boric acid. Eyelids are pre-washed and conjunctival sacs are washed at the stage of cell infiltration, abscess formation and ulceration with furacilin solution 1:5,000 with 2.0% novocaine solution. Every day, twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, the ointment is placed under the upper eyelid near the external angle of the eye fissure in amount of 0.5 g and evenly distributed throughout the conjunctival sac and cornea.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables to reduce the length of treatment of acute and chronic conjunctivitis in cattle due to the combined use of preparations such as florfenicol and resorcin with auxiliary elements, providing high therapeutic effectiveness due to broad antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic action of the used ointment.
