SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to an aerosol supply system, a consumable part for an aerosol supply system, an aerosol supply means, a method for generating an aerosol in an aerosol supply system, and an aerosol supply device. The aerosol supply system contains an aerosol generating medium and an energy source for heating. The heating energy source is configured to cause the aerosol generating medium to be heated to form an aerosol. The aerosol supply system contains the first movement mechanism. The aerosol generating medium is configured to move in the device between the first position, in which the aerosol generating medium is located at a first distance from the heating energy source and is heated by the heating energy source, and the second position, in which the aerosol generating medium the aerosol is located at a second distance from the source of energy for heating, the first distance being less than the second distance. The first movement mechanism is configured to move the heating energy source along at least a second axis that is not parallel to the first axis, wherein the first axis is aligned with the second position and the heating energy source.
