SUBSTANCE: aerosol generation system (100) is claimed, comprising a consumable element (110) having a plurality of air channels (112) passing through it, each of which is connected to at least one corresponding source (114) of aerosol-forming material from a plurality of sources (114) of aerosol-forming material ; and a housing (120) for accommodating the consumable element, having an air inlet (1122) and an air outlet (124). At the same time, the system is designed so that any of the air channels can be selectively brought into contact with the inlet and outlet to form a channel for the passage of air.
