FIELD: medical microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention represents a nutrient medium which can be used for accumulation of parahaemolyticus vibrios (PGV) for the purpose of subsequent determination of virulent properties of vibrios in Kanagawa test. A liquid base is excluded from the known culture medium of the prototype, a more nutritious dry enzymatic digest of meat, mannitol, weight of sodium chloride is increased to 30 g/l, with the following quantitative ratios of components: fermented beef hydrolyzate (FBH)—20.0±2.0 g/l, mannitol—3.0±0.5 g/l, sodium chloride—30.0±2.0 g/l, sodium carbonate—1.5±0.2 g/l, at pH 8.0±0.2, followed by dissolution in 1,000.0 ml of distilled water.
EFFECT: invention provides higher growth activity of control strains in comparison with the prototype with the required size of hemolysis zones around colonies of Kanagawa-positive strains of PGV and the absence of a lysis zone around the Kanagawa-negative strain.
