FIELD: environmental protection.
SUBSTANCE: device for determining toxicity of aqueous media based on measuring motor responses of infusoria Paramecium Caudatum relates to environmental protection and can be used for operational monitoring of toxicity of water and aqueous extracts in analytical and environmental laboratories by analysing motor reactions of infusoria Paramecium Caudatum. Device consists of two external plates and middle plates glued to each other. Plates are made from optically transparent material. In the middle plate there are cutouts, which together with external plates form cavities of the same volume, with an internal connecting channel. Each cavity communicates with the environment by a separate channel. Analysed (control) solution is supplied through channel 7, solution with microorganisms is introduced through channel 8, channel 9 serves for air supply. Size of the connecting hole is made taking into account the size of the cross-section of the infusoria Paramecium Caudatum.
EFFECT: more reliable assessment of toxicity of aquatic environment due to more accurate measurement of parameters of movement of infusoria Paramecium Caudatum.
