FIELD: homing systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of homing systems, in particular to methods of targeting the carrier to the target with the optical homing head. Essence of the invention is based on the fact that radiation from a target is depolarised and an image of the target is formed on a quadrant polariser consisting of four sectors with a central angle of 90°, polarization planes of which are oriented at angles 0°, 45°, 90°, 135° to coordinate axis Y of guidance system, analysing target image position on quadrant polariser, by polarization rotator and radiation receiver, converting the composition of radiations that have passed through the quadrant polariser sectors into an electrical signal defined by a given relationship. Obtained signal is processed by two synchronous detectors, frequencies of reference voltages of which are equal to double angular velocity of the polarization rotator, and phases of reference voltages of synchronous detectors correspond to in-phase and quadrature components of the signal. At the same time output signals of synchronous detectors form control actions of ammunition guidance system on two orthogonal coordinates X and Y.
EFFECT: high accuracy of guided ammunition guidance to a target.
