SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system and a method for bringing a packer into a sealing and gripping position along a wellbore. System for bringing the packer into the sealing and gripping position along the wellbore comprises: a well string having a packer installed along the well string, wherein the packer comprises: a central structure having an outer surface inclined radially outward relative to the longitudinal axis of the packer; a packer element structure having a sealing element mounted on an expandable base located along an outer surface of the central structure; drive element connected to the expandable base part of the packer element structure by means of the shear element; and a plurality of wedges arranged on the drive element. Linear displacement of the drive element causes displacement of the packer element structure in the axial direction along the outer surface so that the outer surface forces the expandable base and the sealing element expand radially outward until the shearing element is sheared. Further linear movement of the drive element causes further expansion of the plurality of wedges in the radially outward direction.
EFFECT: creation of impact effect, which leads to improved engagement with wellbore wall surface.
